I seen my family doctor two weeks ago complaining about palpitations and anxiety. He did an ekg and it came back abnormal with st-t wave changes. I was hanging out at home, doing nothing out of the ordinary, and I felt this huge pulse in my leg. It was getting irritating so I started rubbing it trying to make it stop. Since I was 16 and started running track my menstrual cycle has been irregular. I lost my period for 4 months then when I stop running I got my period back but it was odd like very light spoting. Then my senior year I decided to try running again and I started bleeding very heavy and had to stop running. I would bleed heavily for almost 2 months. It was so heavy that I would have to change every 2 hours. I went to the doctor and was put on birth control pills to regulate it. I only took it twice because it made me sick but it was enough to get me back to normal. Two years pass and I'm in college and the same problem happens again and I go almost two months with a heavy period. I call to make an appointment with a doctor and I was advised to go to emergency. When I went to emergency and they checked my blood pressure it was elevated and had never been high before. The ER doctor ordered tests and found I was slightly anemic and gave me a month supply of birth control pills with iron and they got me back to regular for a few months. Then the problem happened again and I scheduled an appointment with a doctor. They took my blood pressure and it was much higher than the reading in the ER. The doctor ordered tests and didn't find anything wrong with me so she said lose a few pounds and see her in a month. I came back and I did lose the few pounds but my blood pressure was higher than before and she had to put me on blood pressure pills and some birth control pills to regulate my period. I decided this time to continue to take it so I wouldn't have to go through this again. Now 8 years have passed and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and this doctor wants to take me off the pill because of my blood pressure but I'm afraid of having irregular periods as it caused severe pain and heavy bleeding. I didn't want to stop taking them until I have children. The blood pressure pills make me sick and I don't like taking them and have stopped for two months now and I feel fine.

Severe Bladder Infection?

Well a little background, I am 30 weeks and I went to L&D on Monday due to decreased fetal movement and I told the nurse that I was experiencing symptoms of a UTI as well. She never took a urine sample, but I had a low grade fever (99.9) and my BP was elevated (143/93) she said I was fine and sent me home. Well over the course of this week, the back pain and the burning sensation has gotten worse. I went in for my weekly NST and OB visit today and I mentioned my discomfort to the nurse and she checked my urine. My OB came in and checked my NST chart and said that I had had 3 contractions within the 20 minutes that I was being monitired and that they found blood in my urine. He prescribed me Macrobid and also told me to take some over the counter AZO. I have had the contractions all day, I am nauseous, still have the back pain and now I have diarrhea. He told me that if I wasnt feeling any better in 2-3 days to let him know as it could spread to my kidneys. Now my question to you is, how uncomfortable is uncomfortable enough to go to the ER? I am worried about pre-term labor as I am a high risk pregnancy. Thanks in advance!

Halo 3 had one of the best endings in video game history. Why are my photos blank (Windows Vista)?

I just imported some photos onto my computer today. I could see the photos fine. Then I proceeded to edit my photos in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I was also running a Norton 360 scan at the same time. When my Norton scan ended, some of my photos were showing up blank/white. I closed Picture Manager without saving and went to see if my photo thumbnails were showing up in my Photos folder. They were still blank so I restarted my computer in hopes of it fixing itself. When my computer restarted, the photos were still coming up blank. I really need these photos and would like to recover them. The files are still there, they just look like I took a picture of a white abyss. My Norton 360 scan cleaned up Windows Temporary Files, and I believe this may have to do with why my photos messed up. Please help.

Earlier today I accidentally dropped a 20 pounds metal "thing" (I don't even know how to describe it) on my foot. I'm a tall but petite girl so it was heavy for me. At first it was just bleeding a lot and it hurt but it wasn't unbearable. I had a concert to go to tonight so I decided to limp through the pain and go anyway. Well by the end of it I couldn't wait to get back to the car. When I got home my foot hurt so bad I couldn't even put it down. It's swollen and black and blue. I have a really busy week ahead starting tomorrow. Ive never had an injury like this happen before so I don't know what to do! Can it possibly feel better soon? Should I go to the doctor? (which I would rather not do if it could heal on it's own) Any advice is welcome! I am going to elevate it for the night though... :/

Why is elevation important for fractured ankles after surgery? Isn't it enough to keep leg straight and flat?

I recently had an ankle operation and elevation was suggested.I elevated for more than a week; the exercise was painful especially when I had to remove the leg from the elevated position down towards the floor. I decided to remove one pillow and on occasion just put the leg straight and flat whilst in bed. This practice significantly reduced the painful experience. Are there any implications when not elevating but keeping the weight off the leg in the manner I've described? Your kind advice and thoughts will be highly appreciated.

Inside of foot hurting?

I woke up yesterday and the inside of my right foot (a little below the ankle) hurts horribly. I have no idea what I did to it. It hurts to walk or put any pressure on it. There is no swelling or bruising and I've been icing and elevating it. Can anyone help?

Can a sprained ankle be responsible for the rest of my body falling apart?

Last week I twisted my ankle from accidentally stepping in a dip in my yard. It freaked me out at the time cuz I heard three consecutive cracking sounds. After doing some research, I found out that ligaments when torn make just as loud a sound as bones breaking. And everything else suggested it was just a sprain not a broken ankle. I iced and elevated it. It's much better now! The bruising has mostly gone and i can put quite a bit of my weight on it while hobbling around. While I was dealing with this though, I started to get this chill inside the core of my body that I couldn't shake. I have bundled myself up, drunk hot liquids, but I still feel really cold and parts of my body are like icicles. I have a sinus headache that won't go away and I am falling in and out of sleep. Is there something really wrong with me or is this normal??

I'm off balance & I don't know how to feel about any of this (= I don't know whether to be angry/sad/jealous); I just feel numb and whelmed (not over or under) and like these last few years will never be gotten back by either of us, but in contrast, these last 9 months BEFORE I saw those e-mails I've have been blissfully happy with him in my ignorance of their recent past. He says the emailing has stopped since before last summer, & the proof I read with my own eyes was that the 200 emails between them commenced before and even after he told her she could friend him on facebook as evidenced by the fact that I saw her name once in his pull-out chatbox on facebook this March. Obviously I don't trust him; some part of me, the undevastated part, still loves him and wants him because this was an "emailed in" past emotional affair----on his part he just fed her a pack of lies about his life, what he'd been doing/going to do, where he was going. The sexting was real, inappropriate and fantasy. The whole thing was disrespectful to me and our (supposed) relationship. All this anxiety I've been feeling is making me hurt mentally, I feel so bad. I exercise to try to stop the pain, haven't been eating much.

But if you're using jelly, then a glop will do, dropped right in the center, and then spread as evenly as possible towards the crust. Don't worry if the middle is a little thicker, because you made a peanutbutter bowl on the other slice. Then the jelly side is flipped onto it's peanutbutter partner, and voila. Culinary genius.

A year ago she began seeing a naturopath and began taking a large amount of medications to "enhance" her athletic performance. In spite of being concerned about the volume of medications she was taking I said nothing. Now she's decided that she needs to inject herself with non-steroidal drugs that she believes will further enhance her athletic performance. (This without consultation with a medical doctor). After a huge fight I presented her with an ultimatum - either stay married to and living with me OR commence sticking needles in her body. We have now separated. I believe that she is obsessive compulsive and has taken the first step towards steroid abuse. Am I wrong or should I just shut up and let her do as she pleases? My son injured his foot but Dr. says he is fine?

Yesterday my son injured his left foot. From my understanding (I was not home when the injury occurred) my son bent his knees to sit on the floor (looked like he was going to sit on his knees), when his knees touched the floor he started crying that his foot hurt. When I got home, I was told what happened and I looked at it. It wasn't bruised on the outside but it was swollen. I elevated the foot and put ice on his. I thought he has sprained it and figured he would be fine. About 5 hours later, he still could not walk on his foot. I took him to the hospital where they looked at his foot and did xrays. The doctor said that his foot was not swollen (but it was because I could see that it was significantly bigger than the other foot.) and his xrays were normal. They sent him home and told me to give it 2 days and if he still couldn't walk, I was to take him to see our family Doctor. Today he still cannot walk on his foot. His this just a sprain or could something really be wrong that the doctor is not seeing on the xray?

I fell down on my knee 3 weeks after surgery?

I was at a restaurant and they were mopping the floors and my crutch hit the water and I slipped and landed on my back side and also twisted my bad knee and hit the side of it...it is swelled but it really doesn't hurt...it just kinda stings along the incision when I bend it (that's where I fell on it)...I didn't hear anything rip or pop...the swelling has gone down a little and I iced it and elevated it...I think I may of hit one of the screws in my knee because it was like a "jolt" of pain and then it stopped...it feels fine now...is there anything I can do too help it? Does it sound like I have hurt it badly and may need another surgery? I had a screw in my patella and they had to reconstruct a torn ligament and they did a lateral release so they did move around some of my ligaments...and I have set an appointment to see my orthopedist (my surgeon) to take a look at it... and also the way I hurt it before was from a dislocation and they did that surgery ^^^ to correct it...thanks :)

I was in GT during elementary & middle school. It is for the kids who have higher learning levels & usually more imagination. The tests are based on your ability to see hidden things and brain teasers. They're pretty hard for average kids, but not the gifted. My gifted skills are in literature & history, but i do love sciences... If you're kid has the chance to be tested, get him tested. He will end up in AP classes during highschool & will be more likely to get into great colleges, you'll be setting him up for a better life.

GP treating me for depression 15 + yrs without any tests?

I was on paroxetine (seroxat) for 15 years. I asked my GP for a review as I was fed up suffering from poor concentration, extreme tiredness. My GP has now changed my medication to Citralopram (another anti-depressant of the same time). While I was weaning myself off Seroxat I did have some very good days. I told my GP this but she just said 'well, everyone gets good days' and told me to start the Citralopram. I commenced these about 5 days ago (half a tablet, with the intention of building up if I am okay with them). However, the last couple of days I have been feeling suicidal. I do not know whether to stop taking the Citralopram alltogether or to take a whole tablet (in case the half a tablet does is not sufficient). Please can someone advise. I am not feeling too bad at the moment but was very low earlier today. I asked to be referred to a psychologist but my GP just referred me to a local NHS self referral group (Gateway) who apparently have access to psychologists. However, they were not use as they just wanted me to go on a stress / anxiety course (which I couldn't go on as it was in the evenings & I do not go out in the evenings & am too sleepy to take anything in then anyway). In fact, they caused me to be even more stressed as they say you must pay attention on the course etc & if you do not comply and go on the full 6 week evening course then they will refer you back to your GP.

For the last four days I have had multiple bouts of moderate chest pain and an elevated bp( hypertensive )at least versus my normal values. Today it was 145 over 99 and my heart rate was 112. It was 156 over 96 yesterday and 115 Tonight it has gone back down to 110 over 89 and my pulse is 73. The main reason I ask is that I fell off my roof about 4 months ago and have since experienced random tachycardia and hypotension twice being admitted for dangerously low levels. I had me yearly checkup done with the VA a couple of days ago and they took some blood for routine testing. I received a phone call today saying my blood work came back fine but "the levels" were slightly elevated. I go back next week to have the tests redone. What does this mean? Ripped Toenail?...When will it grow back?

Back in March my toenail busted. It was pretty gruesome and ugly. There was dried blood on it and everything. I put ice and elevated it to make the swelling go down. Then a few weeks later, after the accident, the nail started to tear off, and so I clipped it off to the nub. The root is still there and now its not completely grown back, about how long would it take to make it finish growing. Its been growing back since the beginning of May maybe even before. Ok so first my anxiety really elevated after an event where my dad told me something terribly scary about my room and how someone was doing magic in it. You need to contact your friend first of all and ask what they did and troubleshoot for a solution. Is it running in safe mode? Sounds like your computer is not allowing input or output, and hopefully its a security restriction that can be resolved. Have you checked your Computer info under security settings, firewall settings, peripheral devices? Ask your friend. Do you do regular backups? If so, you can go to your last backup. It will have your configurations prior to the MS Office download. Does your friend have the software copy? It may need to be reloaded bc it might be removed if you revert to an earlier configuration. FYI, there is openware software that is very similar to Office, is safe and free to download. Go to www.openoffice.org and take a look. A good source of free computer info by professionals dedicating their time, go to www.computerhope.com or org, I forget offhand.. They have an online forum with people who can help you if you can't reach friend and.or forr future reference. 27 weeks and measuring 32 weeks !?

So im 27 weeks and im measuring 32 weeks . At my last OB appt i was 24 weeks and measuring 25/26 weeks . Whats the chance that i will get induced early ? I cant get on the desktop so I cant save it on a usb, and I don't know if connecting the net book and my computer would work, I also wanted to remove the HD and try to move the data to my computer or a laptop, but if this is a virus would it spread? Could my ankle be broken?

so about three week ago i was jogging on uneven ground and rolled my ankle. I stepped in a small rut and fell pretty hard. i was in the middle of nowhere in the hills so i had to jog back four miles to my car. when i got home i elevated and iced it. i was able to walk on it but had to limp and put very little weight on it. its been almost four weeks and it is still swollen. I can move it and put weight on it but it pops and the back of my foot and "sprain" area is numb. It has been numb since i fell on it. There was very little bruising. Only for a few days and it was a greenish yellow bruise. It is not as sensitive and doesn't hurt as much but it is taking much longer than i expected. the numbness and swelling is also freaking me out a little. i have not gone to the doctor because i don't have insurance. can anyone tell me if this could be broken or why i might be numb?

I'd had pain in the liver region after I had my gallbladder removed a few months ago and although the pain was constant then it had considerably subsided but then I was put on zocor 20mg once a day for the cholesterol and I've taken it for only 3 days and the pain is back and it's constant again like before. I've had ultrasounds done which show no inflammation so the dr says it's probably a fatty liver. But a fatty liver doesn't show up on an ultrasound I know cause I've asked the dr. When I had the gallbladder removed I asked the dr who did the surgery how my liver looked and he said fine so I'm left with the nagging question again if everything looks good then why are my alt's elevated????? I am going to the dr for this by the way but hearing input never hurts. Ok!! I accidently poked my cousin in the eye, long story, please dont ask. The white part of his eye is now elevated (like a bump) and it hurts for him to blink!! Irregular period and high blood pressure?

Since I was 16 and started running track my menstrual cycle has been irregular. I lost my period for 4 months then when I stop running I got my period back but it was odd like very light spoting. Then my senior year I decided to try running again and I started bleeding very heavy and had to stop running. I would bleed heavily for almost 2 months. It was so heavy that I would have to change every 2 hours. I went to the doctor and was put on birth control pills to regulate it. I only took it twice because it made me sick but it was enough to get me back to normal. Two years pass and I'm in college and the same problem happens again and I go almost two months with a heavy period. I call to make an appointment with a doctor and I was advised to go to emergency. When I went to emergency and they checked my blood pressure it was elevated and had never been high before. The ER doctor ordered tests and found I was slightly anemic and gave me a month supply of birth control pills with iron and they got me back to regular for a few months. Then the problem happened again and I scheduled an appointment with a doctor. They took my blood pressure and it was much higher than the reading in the ER. The doctor ordered tests and didn't find anything wrong with me so she said lose a few pounds and see her in a month. I came back and I did lose the few pounds but my blood pressure was higher than before and she had to put me on blood pressure pills and some birth control pills to regulate my period. I decided this time to continue to take it so I wouldn't have to go through this again. Now 8 years have passed and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and this doctor wants to take me off the pill because of my blood pressure but I'm afraid of having irregular periods as it caused severe pain and heavy bleeding. I didn't want to stop taking them until I have children. The blood pressure pills make me sick and I don't like taking them and have stopped for two months now and I feel fine.

Pressure headache in temple and behind right eye all day?

I went to the clinic today and I have had such a bad headache behind my right eye and temples which sometimes also in my other eye but today its mostly in my right eye. Is my ankle sprain ready for rehab?

About 5 weeks ago, I sprained my ankle (2nd degree) and had a very small fracture. I wore a boot and did the elevating thing with ice for a while too. The doctor told me I could start putting weight on my ankle with the boot and start doing exercises to get the flexibility and strength back. My ankle is very stiff still. I can bend my ankle slightly up and down, and move my toes a lot, but whenever I try to move it as much as my other ankle, it just starts to feel like it is too stiff and I"m going to pull something. I'm only supposed to be doing exercise that involve vertical rotation, nothing from side to side yet, but I'm scared because it feels like if I move it too much up or down it is going to get messed up again somehow. I can put a decent amount of my body weight on my ankle with the boot and it doesn't hurt anymore. Still some slight pain when I put too much weight though. What should I do? Is my ankle too stiff from the lack of movement...is it normal that it feels like it does? Should I do therapy?

Last year I had an episode where I was hospitalized due to a possible blood clot. My symptoms were shortness of breath, jaw pain, and extreme fatigue. I was given blood thinners and sent home. Now nearly a year later, I am having similar symptoms, ie shortness of breath and fatigue and bruising that takes forever to heal. My red blood cells are elevated and Im not sure what that means.. Have been told normal range is between 150,000 to 400,00 and mine is in the 700,00... He is going to refer me to a hematologist.... What could this mean and is it serious?
