Why is that I've more compassion for animals than human beings?

I may mourn for the death of any animal but not human. I can't see animals suffer but im fine with.humans. I guess it might have commenced from the callousness going around against animals by humans that i don't feel for them. I wanna know what do you think am i more sensitive to pain and suffering as I've only seen them suffering.
