My husband is going to be base in the US and I...?

am a British citizen. (He has dual citizenship). What I wanted to ask will I be placed on his orders for sponsorship. Or will I have to get a visa/green card in order to be allowed to stay there? Then my sponsorship will commence once I have my visa/ green card in order to stay and work there lawfully. Thanks for your help,
