Windows Vista on Xp and Microsoft Word Q's?

I have a Dell vostro 1000 laptop and i was wondering whether or not it is possible to get windows vista on it it is currently running windows Xp? also i just had a blue screen and i had to restore the entire computer Microsoft word wasn't installed after this is there anyway to get it back?
